Steps 3 and 4

Step 3: Confirm participation

Each company wanting to go through the pilot audits, first needs to enroll. Company to:
Contact Singapore Manufacturers' Federation (Mr Lauw Kok Keen ) to confirm participation
Request for marketing information, presentations, as necessary
Request for clarifications on the programme, as necessary
Identify and inform SMa Federation, an internal coordinator and his/her contact details
- the coordinator must be a key person in supply chain
- He must have a good understanding of supply chain concepts
- He must have easy access to the supply chain team and senior management
Role of the coordinator includes:
Communicate with SMa Federation and the auditors
Help disseminate information on the program internally
Help disseminate information on the details of the framework
Coordinate internal assessment process
Arrange and schedule meetings
Take care of logistics for workshop and audits.

Step 4: Constitute internal team

The coordinator will lead the formation of a cross-functional team

To decide on who should be in the team, scope of the assessment needs to be defined
What businesses of the company will be assessed
What are the aspects of supply chain that are being carried out in Singapore
Select members
Members should represent all aspects of the supply chain operations in Singapore
Members should have good knowledge of how collaboration is being done
Typical members would include planners (demand planners, master planners, material planners), purchasing / sourcing / buying, manufacturing planning, distribution / delivery / customer service, IT SCM
The test of the team is: can the team answer all the questions on the questionnaire
The core team can take help from other people in the company for individual questions or areas. Therefore, the core team can be small, with other individuals supporting internally during audit or available for a short-time to answer missed out areas
Apart from the cross functional team, a brief session with the supply chain headned to be scheduled, to give the auditors a business background, define the scope of supply chain operations and to understand a overall view of e-enablement of the supply chain.
